Born and raised on the Texas coast, fishing takes me to a whole new realm. It is not only my passion, but also an obsession. I have been fishing the Texas coast since the time I could walk. I am thankful for the opportunity I had growing up to be taught at an early age by my grandfather and father, not just how to fish, but also the rules, ethics and conservation of fishing.
I have carried those tools with me throughout my whole life, even though things have changed, I still carry the passion, knowledge and gratefulness to be raised in an outdoors lifestyle.
I fish the coast throughout the entire year. I fish everyway possible, from wading bays in the dead of summer to the coldest, extreme days in winter. I also kayak fish, and have more into that sport over the last ten years. I kayak marshes to shallow flats to offshore blue waters. I use artificial and live bait.
I decided a year ago to share my passions for fishing with other anglers. I began writing for Saltwater Angler Magazine in January 2016. My goal is to to share my knowledge and passion of fishing and waterfowl hunting to anglers and hunters, whether its their first trip or have been fishing and hunting all of their life. Since I am one of three female writers for the magazine, I want to be a role model for other female anglers.
Along the way, I have gained new relationships in the fishing and hunting industry from all over the country. I feel as though I have gained a new family, and that is what the sport is about. I am active with my fishing and hunting experiences on social media and enjoy sharing my catches and kills. I participate in fishing and boat shows around Texas to interact with other anglers. I represent Dexter knives on the water and is my go to knife for fileting my fish and is a product I trust and believe in.
I have recently become more active in tournament fishing. My team name is Nauti Tails and consist of only women. We participant in at least seven women’s tournaments along the Texas coast a year and several kayak tournaments as well. I have gained sponsors from my tournament placing and by the way I take pride in representing the products I believe in.
I am familiar with operating boats and equipment and I plan to further my career in the fishing industry by getting my captains license in 2017. I will then be starting my own fishing and hunting guide service along the middle Texas coast.
